Xuman
The Cyrillic “X” is pronounced [H] in Russia, so always remember to pronounce Xuman as [human]. The strange name created by former house DJ Alexander Xuman had no sense from the beginning expect confusing everyone around the world. It was the first but definitely not the last time when Xuman decided to surprise and puzzle everyone’s expectations.
His first passion to recording was registered at the age of 8 when little Sasha discovered away of recording his abstract sketches through telephone answering machine in which he burped and farted followed by guitar noise. After these first sound experiments his guitar was taken away from him and he switched to computer. At the age of 12 he started to make psy-trance. Afterwards he made another spin and started his IDM and techno experiments.
The new millennium brought economic prosperity in Russia and popularity of house music with all its glamorous attributes. Young Xuman who was at the state of his late teenage years was not an exception and got on the influence of the house movement. Despite of the fact that he was at least 5-10 years younger than all the other house producers in Russia he quickly got a reputation in what is called House “Tusovka” (which could be translated as a close circle of people in a concrete subculture). He became a favorite of main nightclubs and dance radiostations owners. After reaching the highest point of his house DJ career by playing at Ibiza he suddenly decided to start experimenting again. After returning from US where Alexander has been working in music industry for 18 months he launched a record label called Xuman Records.
Later Xuman decided to make another, even more serious step, by switching to indie which was getting on the hype at that time. He met Ilya Sosnitskiy who was playing in numerous popular Russian pop-rock bands. His skilled multi-instrumentalist approach seriously influenced Alexander Xuman and his songwriting.
After a quick and successful start Xuman was unsatisfied with his live performances and decided to add live drums and bass to his band.
In December 2010 the world is going to witness the debut album of Xuman followed by a tour in Europe and Latin America.
